Practical-Creating a Continuity Look

This is a look I tried creating for continuity. I based the continuity around the bruise and the eye make-up. The image on the left is the first look that I created and the image on the right is the look I recreated.

I used the ivory colour foundation from the foundation palette as the base of the whole face. I then set this using translucent powder. On the eyes I used the beige shadow from the inner corner of the eye and the middle. This shadow was from the mac palette and I used brown on the outer corners taking this into the crease. To create the bruise/scar I put wax on the area that I wanted to create the scar and moulded it t the shape that I wanted. I used the corner of my eye, my cheek bone and the upper corner of my ear as reference points to make sure that when I recreate this look the bruise is in exactly the same place.

I flattened the wax and made sure that the edges were blended. I went over this with the base colour to make sure it was the same colour as the skin. I then created a cut in the middle and opened this using a round edged palette knife. I made it look like the skin from the middle has come off and is slightly hanging on the sides. In the middle of the bruise I went in with black supra colour in the edges of the bruise. I then applied a dark purple bruise shade and filled it with some bruise filler. Using a stipple sponge I then created a little bruising around the area using red and the bruise purple supra colour. I used a twi coloured lipstick on the lips. I kept the look fairly natural as I wanted to keep it a little Victorian.

The image on the left is the first look I recreated and the image on the right is the recreation of the first look. Even though the bruise is on the same position in both looks it is a major continuity error in this look. In the image on the left is the first look and the scar looks smaller than the one in the second recreated look. I noticed that they both have different colours as well. The one in the second part looks more red than the one in the first. The scar in the middle itself looks a little larger than the one in the first one. I also noticed that the look on the left look more powdery than the one on the right. I need to get better at the continuity as I know this will not be acceptable in the industry.
